I always studied art in a fun but haphazard way with an ambition to take it seriously when I could. This became possible when I left a career in teaching English as a foreign language in Oxford in 2007. I trained in contemporary and conceptual art at The Warehouse Art School, Oxford and then studied contemporary painting techniques for a further two years at OVADA, Oxford Visual Arts Development Agency. I sometimes lead sessions in Experimental Drawing, most recently as part of my role as artist in residence at Burgess Field Nature Reserve, Oxford.

I am a storyteller with a track record of convincing people of another reality.  I paint landscapes that I cannot reach and have never seen and make three dimensional work and drawings which discuss the unique value of quiet, overlooked things. Much of my work notices the presence of flora and fauna in our cities and suburbs.

My work is held in private collections across the U.K., Europe, Canada and Australia and I show work in galleries in Cornwall and Oxfordshire.
