I work at Wilcote Art Studios, Oxfordshire, OX7 3DX.

I trained in contemporary art at The Warehouse Art School, Oxford and studied contemporary painting at OVADA, Oxford Visual Arts Development Agency.

I have occasionally led sessions in Experimental Drawing.

My practice involves experimental learning in any medium that seems appropriate.

I am a storyteller with a track record of convincing people of another reality.  I paint landscapes that I cannot reach and have never seen and make three dimensional work and drawings which discuss the unique value of quiet, overlooked things. My work notices the presence of flora and fauna in our cities and suburbs.

I have been using a walking-sketch-machine, co-designed and made by Stephen Lunn. With this machine I record sounds, the rhythm of footfall, recurring patterns and overall impressions of the world as I walk.

This photograph shows the sketch machine in use on the deck of a trawler, touring the Outer Hebrides in 2018.
